The Tale of the Rooster. (no pun intended)

I know some of those reading this may wonder why I have made my name "Rooster" instead of just plain Austin Gray. Well for one that was taken >:(, and 2 because I wanted to be somewhat original. This is the nickname that no one besides my family knows me by because it was a nickname given to me by my dad when I was 2 years old. Whenever I am around my dad this is all he calls me is "Rooster" and I think it is my favorite nickname. I'll tell you the story of how I acquired such a weird and yet very cool nickname.

Like I said when I gained this nickname I happened to be 2 years old, so I've heard it said to me for almost 18 years of my life now. You could call me this over Austin and still get the same reaction. As a baby I tended to fall asleep rather quickly and easily, not something most babies do. So here I am fast asleep in my crib in my room just a brief walk from my parents room. With the whole house asleep I can imagine it to be very peaceful. My older brother and sister, getting their rest for school, and my parents getting their strength for another day at work, and I the baby resting for another hard day of drooling and emptying my bladder in my pants. (tough day I know) As we all know, a good nights sleep is much needed and is very annoying to be interrupted before the alarm goes off. So naturally when the sun broke over the horizon and was shining into my room upon my face, I would wake, and of course let out a very very loud cry that said, "if you don't come pick me up now I'll keep crying," sorta thing. Thus waking the whole house as the sun came up very early in the mourning before anyone elses alarm clocks chimed. This didn't happen just on occasion or a few times a week, but it occurred literally every mourning from when I was 2 years old to 3 and half almost 4 years old. It became a mourning ritual of me waking up, crying, and in turn waking up the whole house. Just like a rooster does every mourning on a barn.

So just for those who were curious this is why I made my name how it is, however this nickname is kinda family only since it has a sorta family quality to it, so Austin will do (no offense). Unless on the occasion I'm your boyfriend in which case "Honey" will do. ( Love ya Sweetie)
